Hailing from Kastoria, Eleni Markou has carved a truly unique path that goes far beyond the boundaries of sports. From her early days at PAOK to her professional career in Germany’s Bundesliga with SGS Essen, and then on to Switzerland’s Super League with FC Basel and later FC Zurich, where she became the first Greek female footballer to compete in the Champions League group stage, Eleni has consistently broken new ground. For over a decade, she has also been a key player for the Greek national team.
